Turkmenistan’s Altyn Asyr (TM Cell) CJSC national mobile operator plans to provide the country with mobile communication, including 3G and 4G high-speed Internet and launch 5G network in the near future, Turkmenistan State News Agency reported.

To this end, it is planned to purchase 577 units of base station equipment operating in the 2G, 3G and 4G network (in addition to the already available nearly 3,000 units of equipment).

Of the total amount of units of equipment planned to be purchased, 101 units will account for base station equipment operating in the 2G network, mainly intended for voice communication, but the 2G network covers significantly wider area than the 3G and 4G network.

“Therefore, 2G network is considered to be beneficial for ensuring mobile communication in Turkmenistan’s rural areas,” the report said.

At the same time, 114 base stations operating in 4G network will be installed in the Turkmen capital, and this will nearly double the existing 4G network capacity.
