By Huseyn Veliyev – Trend:

The Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry is developing a new strategy for electronic agriculture, the ministry told Trend on June 7.

Work on expansion of the digitalization of the agriculture sector will be carried out within the framework of the strategy, according to the ministry.

"First of all, we are talking about unification of the e-agriculture project, integration of certain information systems created within its framework, expansion of integration with the information systems of other state agencies. Firstly, it is planned to closely cooperate with the agency on e-government and expand participation of the e-agriculture system in projects of the e-government," the ministry said.

Moreover, the ministry said, one of the important issues, on which the ministry is now working, is to establish closer relations with farmers.

"For example, we would like to know in advance what farmers will grow, so that within the framework of the ministry's powers to support their access to the market . This information can be provided both through a mobile application and through an Internet resource and call center of the department. This will simplify access of farmers to the ministry," the ministry said.

In addition, farmers will be able to apply to local district departments of the Agriculture Ministry with their proposals and complaints, the ministry said.

"An internal audit department has been set up under the Ministry to handle farmers' complaints and work with local authorities. Every petition is thoroughly studied and detailed information is provided to each farmer. Appeals are received electronically, in a paper form and through the call center," the ministry said.
