In the near future, joint workstream of French and Uzbek space industries, will consist of development of joint projects, exchanges of experience and good practices, training and promotion of space activities, particularly among young people, press attache of the French National Center for Space Studies (CNES), Pascale Bresson told Trend in an interview.

According to him, CNES cooperation with Uzbekistan started with the signature of a framework agreement with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies Development of Uzbekistan in October 2018.

The corresponding framework agreement was signed by Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall during the official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France.

Bresson stressed that agreement testifies the strong will of the two countries to advance in space cooperation.

“This agreement highlights common interests in the fields of science, earth observation, telecommunications satellites, space applications and the coordination of international regulatory issues," he said.

Bresson went on to inform about recent creation of the first space agency of Uzbekistan.

“CNES was also glad to be informed of the recent creation of Uzbekkosmos - which opens new perspectives for the cooperation between France and Uzbekistan. Discussions are to be expected between the two space agencies in order to determine how to enforce space cooperation between Uzbekistan and France, and also for French and Uzbek space industries," said Bresson.
