Azerbaijan continues digitalization of various structures

In accordance with the national strategy for the development of information and communication technologies in Azerbaijan, mostly state structures were digitized, from 2014-2020, expert-analyst at The Prime Consulting & Management, Ilgar Aliyev, told Trend.

AzInTelecom LLC under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies does the main digitalization of state structures of Azerbaijan.

According to Aliyev, the main areas of development in accordance with he mentioned strategy are the non-oil sectors, development of innovative technologies and the expansion of the areas of ICT implementation.

“Within this strategy, special ICT and e-government systems were developed, it was decided to expand the spheres of government for further digitalization,” he added.

“Along with the transition to electronic provision of services and this form of work, cyber threats and crimes have expanded in the world, including Azerbaijan. In line with the development strategy of Azerbaijan’s ICT, it is envisaged to conduct online trainings and webinars on protection against cyber threats in order to prevent such threats,” said the expert.

In addition, to date, in accordance with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, all state structures will be gradually transferred to the electronic form of interaction.

At the same time, the ICT strategy provides for the creation of a new digital hub, which will contribute to the internet development, as well as all economic processes passing through the internet, Aliyev emphasized.
