The most widespread cyberattacks are DDoS attacks, IT expert Rashad Aliyev told Trend.
According to Aliyev, cybercriminals use different methods of cyberattacks to stop the system and replenish traffic.
"Sometimes, when certain viruses or DDoS attacks are used for the target, external hosts become its source, and they need to be protected at all stages, such as the mail.ru service. If this service is purposefully used as an object for the attack, then it can eventually harm its users in other countries," he said.
Previously, Russian Qrator Labs company stated that phishing remains one of the most widely spread cyberattacks and in terms of danger level it’s followed by DDoS attacks, which periodically change places with phishing, taking the first position in the ranking. In third place, there are hacks with further data encryption and extortion.
According to the company, DDoS attacks are directed primarily at financial organizations and payment systems.
