Considering that popularity of Georgia's wine is growing in China, the development of tourism between the two countries is also very real, said ex-head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia Maya Sidamonidze, Trend reports citing Georgian media outlets.
She added that while China is a very big and potentially profitable market, it requires a lot of marketing work.
On November 11 Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava made a presentation of the country's tourism opportunities to Chinese tourism companies during her visit to China.
According to Turnava, the number incoming tourists from China to Georgia increased by 75 percent in 2018 compared to 2017.
The growth of the tourist flow was positively influenced by the beginning of direct flights from Georgia to China.
