Kazakhstan supporting railway construction in Mongolia

Kazakhstan is interested in importing cattle from Mongolia and is planning to submit official request to Mongolia’s Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration.

The topic was discussed during a videoconference of Kazakhstan’s Vice-Minister of Trade and integration Kairat Torebayev, state bodies of Mongolia and ambassadors of each country.

During the meeting the parties discussed information on work done in preparation to the Eighth Meeting of Intergovernmental Kazakh-Mongolian Commission.

During the meeting Torebayev offered that countries cooperate in implementation of Mongolia’s Tavan-Tolgoi coal deposit development project within the framework of which construction of two railway lines is underway. Thus, Torebayev offered that Lokomotiv Kurastyru Zauyty JSC supplies its rolling stock worth $159 million.

The parties have also agreed that Mongolian party will submit proposals for the draft bilateral agenda, the Protocol of the Eighth Meeting of Intergovernmental Kazakh-Mongolian Commission and the Roadmap for enhancing trade and economic cooperation for 2021-2024.

The parties also agreed to further look into the proposal for locomotives supplies.
