Turkey announces figures for 1H2020 cargo shipment from Georgia via its ports

The transshipment of goods from Georgia through the ports of Turkey made up over 1.3 million tons from January through June 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

Over the reporting period, the volume of cargo movement from Georgia by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 475,036 tons, while ships flying the flags of other countries handled 852,135 tons of cargo.

According to the ministry, no cargo was transported by ships flying the Georgian flag during this period.

At the same time, 775,921 tons of goods were shipped in transit from Georgia through the Turkish ports.

In 1H2020, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports amounted to 179.6 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons.

During the first six months of this year, the volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 6.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 158.3 million tons.

Over 36.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey.

In June 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 28.1 million tons. At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.

The volume of transshipment of goods through the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags exceeded 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – to 24.6 million tons.

In June 2020, 5.4 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey.
