NATO-Kazakhstan Week to be Held in Kazakhstan on 7-11 April

Kazakhstan, Astana/ corr. Trend K. Konirova/ NATO and Kazakhstan will hold a second partnership week in Almaty and Astana from 7 to 11 April, the press service of Alliance .

Robert Simmons, the special envoy of NATO Secretary General for Caucasus and Central Asia is expected to visit Kazakhstan for this purpose. "The aim of his visit is to discuss the main direction regarding the individual plan of action on partnership (IPAP) of Kazakhstan," the press service said.

The NATO special envoy will hold meetings in relevant ministries, will give a speechin the Al-Farabi University and Eurosian National Universirty in Astana and will take part in the opening of the depository library of NATO in the national library of Kazakhstan.

The press conference will be held in Almaty and Astana on the results of the NATO Bucharest summit.

"NATO-Kazakhstan week will contribute to the understanding of the NATO policy in Kazakhstan's civil society and strenghtening cooperation between NATO and Kazakhstan," said the press service.

The first NATO week in Kazakhstan was held in June 2006.
