Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 17 / Trend A. Badalova /

KazTransGas has to supply gas to Almaty through the additional line to provide Bishkek with the fuel, KyrTAG reported with the reference to the Deputy Director General of JSC 'Kyrgyzgaz' Kuralbek Naskeev.

"Gas is supplied to Almaty through the transit from Uzbekistan to the north of Kyrgyzstan. In order to somehow provide Bishkek and Chuy Province with fuel, 'KazTransGas" is obliged to supply gas to Almaty through the additional line," Naskeev said.

Naskeev confirmed that KazTransGas decreased gas supplies to Kyrgyzstan.

Earlier Kazakh KazTransGas company partially limited gas supply to Kyrgyzstan due to anomalous drop in air temperature, limited supply of Uzbek gas, as well as increased gas consumption in the south of Kazakhstan. Previously, KazTransGas repeatedly notified Kyrgyz colleagues about limited resources of natural gas and a possible decrease in supply.

Naskeev stressed that high-rise buildings and social objects of the country are still being supplied with electricity.

Naskeev also added that Kyrgyzstan has a large debt to Kazakhstan and therefore can not categorically demand providing gas volumes specified by terms of supply from Kazakh side.
