Trend:

The powers of Members of Kazakhstan's Majilis (lower house of the Parliament) Zulfiya Suleimenova and Vladimir Tokhtasunov have been terminated, Trend reports citing Kazinform.

“MP of the Majilis [lower house] of Kazakhstan’s Parliament Zulfiya Suleimenova applied for her voluntary dismissal,” Shavkhat Utemisov, a member of Kazakhstan’s Central Election Commission, said at the plenary session of the Majilis.

“In this regard, the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan is recommending in accordance with Article 52 of Kazakhstan’s Constitution, 3rd and 8th paragraphs of Article 24 of the Constitutional Law "On the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the status of its MPs" to resolve the issue of premature termination of the powers of the MP Zulfiya Suleimenova in connection with her appeal,” Utemisov noted.

The MPs voted in favor of this decision. Speaker of the Mazhilis Yerlan Koshanov wished Suleimenova good luck in her future activities and thanked for long-year work in the Majilis.

Also, Utemisov said MP Vladimir Tokhtasunov applied for his voluntary dismissal due to health reasons.

The MPs of Majilis voted in favor of this and decided to terminate the powers of Tokhtasunov.
