BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 23. Kazakhstan approved preparation plan for the planting season of 2023,Trend reports via Kazakh media outlets.
“In order to reduce the shortage of water resources in Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Turkestan, Zhetysu regions, sowing of moisture-intensive crops has been reduced. At the same time, in order to save water, work was organized on water circulation and irrigation sequence. The mechanical cleaning of canals with a length of 1,030 km was carried out and water-saving technologies have been applied on an area of 107,000 hectares,” Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan Serikkali Brekeshev said.
“To date, a special plan has been approved to prepare for the planting season of 2023, and initial work has begun. From January 2023, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, we are planning to conduct appropriate explanatory work among farmers,“ the minister said.
