A rally in protection of lawyers, participating in the trial on Osh events, is being held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan in front of the Prosecutor General's Office, news agency "24.kg" reported.
Ten picketers from among human rights activists and lawyers keep the following posters in hand: "Protection - right of each person," "Protection for protectors," "Security for lawyers," "Lawyer - guarantee of fair trial."
According to one of the rally participants Sardar Berdishev, the goal of the action is to appeal to the authorities of the country to ensure security for the lawyers, participating in the trial on Osh events. "We can understand the families of the victims: they suffered losses. But it does not entitle them to put pressure upon the lawyers, arranging scandals and trying to inflict harm to somebody else's health. The failure of the authorities to act in this situation worries very much," Sardar Berdishev said.
He underlined that a similar action with participation of lawyers should be held in Osh city today.
