BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. Kyrgyz Temir Zholu (Kyrgyzstan Railways) participates in the project to create a multimodal trade corridor from China to Europe, said Deputy Director of the Kyrgyz Temir Zholu, Dastan Usubakunov, Trend reports via Tazabek.kg.

China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, and Europe will be connected by rail through the multimodal trade corridor.

"The majority of the commodities will be delivered by container trains as part of the project. A weekly train, consisting of around 44 wagons, will provide access to China's numerous goods," he said.

According to Usubakunov, the road stretch from the Irkeshtam checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border to the Osh station, as well as the railway part from the Osh station to the Uzbek border, are currently considered as parts of the multimodal corridor.

The countries engaged in the multimodal corridor project will meet again in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek on June 29, 2022. Representatives of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Georgia have already sent a list of their delegations.
