BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. Kyrgyzstan registered a substantial increase of 5.4 times or by 2,019 tons in oil imports from Kazakhstan year-on-year from January through February 2023 – from 454 tons up to 2,473 tons, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 43,004 tons of oil products from January through February 2023, which is a decrease of 69 percent compared to the same period of 2022 (138,509 tons).
During the period under review, Kyrgyzstan imported most of the oil from Russia – 37,735 tons. The figure decreased by 72 percent year-on-year (135,040 tons in 2M2022).
The second-largest supplier of oil products to Kyrgyzstan was Uzbekistan – 1,000 tons, which is 18 percent more than in 2M2022 (846 tons).

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover totaled $1.7 billion from January through February 2023, which is an increase of 22.7 percent year-on-year ($1.3 billion in the same period of 2023).
Kyrgyzstan’s exports reached more than $255.6 million, which is 2 percent more than $250.2 million in the corresponding months of 2022.
The imports to Kyrgyzstan exceeded $1.4 billion, which is a growth of 27.2 percent year-on-year ($1.1 billion from January through February 2022).
