BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 22. Funds totaling 891.3 million soms ($10 million) were allocated from the republican budget to support various development sectors in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan as of August 15, 2023, Trend reports.
This investment, according to information from the nation's Ministry of Finance, was intended to maintain sustainable progress and satisfy the region's basic necessities. Various areas of the region's development are covered by the funding, with these being the primary ones:
To achieve a more equitable distribution of funding to support various areas within the region, equalization transfers of 159.6 million soms ($1.8 million) were made;
In order to maximize urban area, 26.7 million soms ($302, 481) were allotted for the creation of village master plans;
An amount of 21.9 million soms ($248,102) is directed towards compensating 50 percent of the electricity costs, contributing to the sustainable development of the energy sector in the region.
Moreover, special attention was given to the development of the city of Karakol, which has received funding of 650 million soms ($7.3 million). These funds aimed to enhance infrastructure, social programs, and the economic growth of the city, contributing to an improved quality of life for its residents.
