A new pharmaceutical factory has been introduced into operation in Tajikistan, Asia-Plus reported.

Salim Abdulazizov
, the head of the pharmaceutical department of the Ministry of Health (MoH), says the factory provided with the state-of-the-art equipment was introduced into operation in the Choryakkoron jamoat, Roudaki district last week.

"The factory was launched by the pharmaceutical company, Tib baroi Shumo (Medicine for You)," said Abdulazizov, "A total cost of the project is 13 million somoni and the factory was built with financial support from local entrepreneurs."

The factory has four workshops for production of cartridge medicines, fusional medicines, herbs, as well ethanol-based medicines.  "This factory will also produce two new medicines worked out by Tajik researchers - 'timatin' and 'timagar' (phonetically spelled) that are immunomodulators," Abdulazizov said, noting that other countries also produce immunomodulators but they outvalue Tajik analogues.

According to him, the pharmaceutical factory in Choryakkoron will produce more than 60 items of medicines that had previously been produced by Tib baroi Shumo.

Abdulazizov noted that 14 new plant-derived medicines were registered in 2010 and will be produced this year.
