Uzbekistan seizes heroin from Tajik train

Uzbek border guards have seized 8 kg of heroin on a train traveling through Uzbekistan, officials from the Border Committee of the Uzbek National Security Service said on Monday, Xinhua reports.
The heroin was hidden in the freight train, going by the route from the Tajik capital of Dushanbe to St. Petersburg, the officials said.
According to Uzbek official statistics, the Uzbek authorities seized a total of 4,716.6 kg of drugs last year and captured 115 foreign drug dealers, 34 of whom were from Tajikistan.
