Almost 100% voters’ turnout in Turkmenistan’s parliamentary election

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Dec. 14/ Trend , E. Hasanov / Nearly 2,594,658 or 93.87% of voters turned out for the parliamentary election in Turkmenistan, Central Election Commission said.

This is only preliminary report. Final report about turnout of voters will be available after exact count of number of voters who took part in the voting including those who voted in 27 polling stations at Turkmenistan's diplomatic missions abroad for the first time. According to Turkmenistan's laws, the vote is considered valid if only 50% of voters turn out. The turnout of voters exceeded this indicator even before noon.

The Central Commission on Election and Referendum will inform the media about results of the election, list of elected MPs in order of polling stations including surname, name, patronymic, position (occupation), as well as address not late than ten days after the election.
