BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. Turkmenistan and Afghanistan have reached an agreement on a number of issues related to the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline under construction, Trend reports via “Business Turkmenistan” news agency.

This was announced by the official representative of the Afghan Foreign Ministry Shafay Azam.

According to him, the parties reached an agreement on action plans for the construction of a gas pipeline, the creation of a network for gas supply to residents of Herat city (Afghanistan) and industrial parks, as well as for processing natural gas into LNG.

Furthermore, he noted that an agreement was reached on the formation of a schedule for the acquisition of land and the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline.

It is expected that the TAPI gas pipeline will annually transport 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas along an 1800-kilometer route from the Turkmen Galkynysh, the second largest gas field in the world, to the Indian city of Fazilka, located near the border of India with Pakistan.
