Islam Karimov awarded the staff of the national airline of Uzbekistan

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on Friday awarded a group of employees of the national airline "Uzbekistan Airways" in connection with the 20th anniversary of the founding of the company.

According to the decree of the President, three employees of airlines honorary title "Honored Worker of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Uzbekistan", sixteen workers were awarded orders and medals for their fruitful work and development of the national aviation.

On the same day President of Uzbekistan congratulates "Uzbekistan Airways", in which he noted that over the years here, "was formed and has grown multinational group of selfless labor, knowledge and experience which are rightfully high prestige and recognition in the country and are sound basis for further development of the domestic civil aviation. "

"Uzbekistan Airways", monopoly carrier in Uzbekistan, is wholly owned by the state. Airline is flying to 21 cities in Europe, America, Middle East, Asia, and in 22 cities of CIS countries and in 11 directions at the local airlines.

Fleet of the company now has 27 western aircraft, including nine Boeing (four and five 767-300 757-200), thirteen Airbus (three A-310 and ten A-320-200), three medium-RJ-85 and Airbus A300 two cargo-600F.

In 2011, aircraft with 24 airlines, 437 thousand of flights, increasing the transportation of passengers by 7.2 percent compared to 2010 - up to 2.322 million, the volume of freight traffic by 5.1 percent, to 48.2 thousand tons.
