TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 30. Uzbekistan has produced 1.27 million tons of grapes from January through September of 2023, Trend reports.

As per data by Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee, the indicator reflects a 6.8 percent decrease compared to the same period of 2022.

The committee noted that Uzbekistan’s rural farms accounted for a substantial portion of 645,900 tons of grape crops, constituting 50.9 percent of the overall production volume.

Meanwhile, 18,900 hectares of land are currently used for grape plantations on all agricultural farms in the Tashkent region. Uzbekistan plans to create plantations on another 20,000 hectares in the Bekabad, Parkent, Yangiyul, Zangiata, Akhangaran, Tashkent, Kibray, and Urtachirchik districts of the Tashkent region from 2024 through 2025.

Thus, the total area of grape plantations in the region by the end of 2023 will reach 38,000 hectares, which will increase the yield by three times and amount to 500,000 tons.
