40 injured in Iran car accident: report
40 people were injured in a car accident in central Iran Sunday morning, Xinhua reported according to the official IRNA news agency reported.
The accident took place after a passenger bus crashed a trailer in Kashan-Isfahan freeway at 7:45 local time (0445 GMT), the report said.
"All the passengers on the bus were injured," the chief of Accidents Management and Medical Emergency Center of Kashan Medical University, Abolfazl Shojaie told IRNA.
Seven passengers were dispatched to a hospital in Kashan due to the serious injury, Shojaie was quoted as saying.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, the report said.
Official figures showed more than 20,000 people were killed and 200,000 others were wounded in car accidents in Iran every year.
