FM: Iran ready to solve Pakistan's energy crisis

Iran seeks to help Pakistan solve its energy crisis and provide electricity to the country, IRNA reported quoting Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi as saying.

"Iran is ready to cooperate and assist Pakistan in solving its energy crisis. The Islamic republic is able to provide electricity to Pakistan," he said.

Iran can export 1,000 mega watts electricity to Pakistan if the necessary infrastructure is created, he added.

During his meeting with Pakistan's oil minister, Salehi expressed hope to increase the bilateral relations with Pakistan.

Today, Iran exports electricity to Armenia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan ( to Nakhchivan), Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan
