Iran buys 25 more passenger planes

Iran has added 25 passenger planes to its national fleet when the ministry of roads and transportation and the housing ministry were combined in June, the roads and urban development minister Ali Nikzad said.

Ali Nikzad told Mehr news agency that the private sector has bought 25 new planes for domestic airlines.

Iran negotiates with Russia to buy a number of short-range 100-seat passenger planes, ISNA news agency quoted Nikzad as saying.

Iran will add 20 new passenger planes to the national fleet by the next few months, head of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, Reza Nakhjavani, said on December 12.

Russia has proposed Iran to buying the planes, the minister said. He added that the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization must approve the purchase of the planes.
