Iran's car production rose by 9.4 percent in the fifth fiscal month of Mordad (July 23-August 22) compared to the same month last year.
Iranian car manufacturers produced 84,161 cars in the month of Mordad, compared to 76,955 cars last year, Iran's ISNA news agency reported on September 12.
Sedan car production rose by 17 percent and hit 76,634. Meanwhile, 6691 pick-up trucks and 29 buses were produced, 32.4 percent and 69.1 percent fall respectively.
In the first five months of the current Iranian fiscal year, 405,689 sedan cars were manufactured in Iran, a 17.5 percent rise year on year.
The country manufactured 1.13 million vehicles in the past Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, showing 53 percent growth compared to its preceding year.
Latest data shows that Iran ranks 18th on the list of the world's top auto manufacturers.
The 2014 production statistics by the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) indicate Iran's auto production increased by 46.7 percent in the 12-month period.
