By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:

The Iranian government is going to put 51 fuel stations on tender to be sold on January 3, 2016.

The fuel stations are worth three trillion rials (about $100 million, for each US dollar being worth about 30,000 rials), Jafar Sobhani, advisor to Iran's Privatization Organization's director, said, IRNA news agency reported Dec. 9.

He added that buyers can put their bids in place up to January 2.

The official further said the government has 200 fuel stations to sell on agenda.

"In the past, the fuel stations used to be put on sale for 100 percent cash. But they met little welcome. Now the conditions have changed and buyers would have to pay 40 percent of the total price in cash and the rest in installments for two years," he explained.

The official went on to say that Haft Tappeh sugar cane company is also going to be put for sale this month for 2.2 trillion rials.

There are two other privatizations as well, one being the Tabriz machine manufacturing company worth 2.85 trillion rials and the other is some real estate sale worth $3.7 trillion rials, he noted.
