Iran increases daily gas deliveries to power plants

Iran's daily gas deliveries to power plants increased significantly, but in total, the gas-to-power process indicates 3.6 percent decrease during 83 days of the current fiscal year, compared to the same period of last year.

Iran's fiscal year started on March 21.

During 21 days of current month (May 22 to June 11), Iran delivered more than 213 million cubic meters of gas per day (mcm/d) to power plants, while the figure for the first two months of current fiscal year (March 21 to May 21) was about 80 mcm/d, the latest weekly statistics of Iran's Energy Ministry, published June 16 indicates.

During 114 days of fiscal year, Iran delivered about 13.446 billion cubic meters (bcm), or 162 mcm/d, to power plants. The figure indicates 3.6 percent decrease year-to-year.

Iran has planned to increase gas deliveries to power plants by 7 bcm to 65 bcm in the current fiscal year.

During 83 days of current year, Iran generated 61,106 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity, of which 913 million kWh was exported.

Iran's electricity exports decreased by 54 percent, while its electricity imports increased by 3 percent to 1,114 million kWh in the mentioned period.
