Iran spends $1B in mid-stream gas sector

Iran has spent $937 million on mid-stream gas projects during the last fiscal year (ended onMarch 21).

Hassan Montazer Torbati, managing director of the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company said that during the last fiscal year, Iran expanded its gas network by 700 km and installed 24 compressors to boost gas pressure in the grid, Shaha reported on May 8.

According to Torbati, the figures for the previous year were 300 km and 10 compressors.

“The expenditures of gas-related mid-stream projects would be $1.25-1.56 billion in the current fiscal year,” he said.

According to an official document, prepared by Iran’s Oil Ministry and seen by Trend, the country’s gas grid in 2016 reached 37,000 km.
