Iran plans to boost cement output 50% by 2025

Iran’s cement output is set to increase by 50 percent by the year 2025 according to a plan drafted by the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Trend correspondent reported June 3.

The plan stipulates that the annual output of cement should reach 120 million tons by the set year, now at 80 million.

It is estimated that 1.6 billion euros will be needed to meet that goal.

The amount of exported cement will accordingly increase from the current 15 million tons to 32 million tons per year by 2025.

The value of the exported cement will improve from $700 million to $1.2 billion by that year.

The cement industry, according to the plan, will have employed 67.5 thousand people by then, up from the current number of 36.6 thousand.

Also, Iran will become the 3rd biggest producer of cement by that year. The country now occupies the 7th ranking.

In terms of export, the country will be preserving its ranking of 1 among world countries.
