As many as 74.6 tons of lead ingots were exported last Iranian week (Oct. 4-11) to the UAE from the Qeshm Free Trade Zone in Qeshm island of Iran’s Hormozgan province, said Hormoz Amiri, director for trade development of Qeshm Free Trade Zone, Trend reports with reference to the trade zone’s website.

Amiri noted that the cargo was transported from the Bahman platform to the UAE’s Jebel Ali port.

The director added that the cost of lead ingots produced by Aliaj Gostar Qeshm Company is more than $41,000.

Aliaj Gostar Qeshm is one of the companies operating in the Free Trade Zone and exporting its products, he noted.

“For the past six months (from March 21 to September 22), cement, clinker, zinc ingots, lead ingots, dry fish, cigarettes and perfumes were mainly exported from the Qeshm Free Trade Zone,” Amiri said.

Iran is one of the biggest countries in the Middle East in terms of lead ingots export. Iran exports this product mainly to the UAE, India, Vietnam and Taiwan.

There are 197 companies operating in the production area in the Qeshm Free Trade Zone. Products manufactured by 20 companies are exported.
