Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Sipah Changed to Stop US’s Impact – Iran Politician

Khatinoghlu / According to many politicians, today's decision of Iranian religious leader, Khameneyi regarding the change of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Sipah military forces is intended to prevent their inclusion into the list of terrorist organizations. "Administration of Sipah was changed to prevent USA's impact," Iranian politician functioning in France, Asgar Karimi, said.

On 3 September, Iranian religious leader, Ali Khameneyi, appointed Моhаmmadali Jafari to the position of Rahim Safavi. The reason for the decision is not known.

According to the politician, Sipah is accused of many acts of terrorism. Safavi headed the military organization for 10 years and recently the organization has been extremely politicized. "In my opinion, these changes are intended to stop the impact from USA. The changes were not announced officially, so it not known what factor dominated in this decision," the Iranian politician said.

Karimi did not rule out that Iran's religious leader removed Safavi from the position and appointed him as his senior military advisor.

USA's intentions to refer Sipah to terrorist organizations was announced recently.

According to a range of politicians, changing the administration of Sipah Khameneyi is intended to restrict activities of the military forces.

Sipah is accused of acts of terrorism in Iraq and intensive activities of the development of Iran's nuclear program.

During the ten years when Safavi headed the organization, Sipah signed big contracts in the construction and oil fields. Furthermore, the organization played a large part in the election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the President of Iran.
