Georgia, Tbilisi, April 28 / Trend , N.Kirtskhalia /

Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II called upon the nation to unity and forgiveness for the past in the Cathedral of Holy Trinity penitential prayer. "I am the sinner from the sinful and need to apologize as to ask for forgiveness all sinful," he said.

"Whole Georgia is experiencing a difficult situation that arose today. All these are our sins and I ask God to cure and rescue us from sin. We need to understand the wisdom of God and listen to each other, and if possible, fulfill the request of each other," said the Patriarch.

Attending the prayer, President of Georgia also said that he is the first of all sinners. "Of course we have different views and it is impossible to be of other kind. We are different people and can have different political views. I can say that we can not agree with many of the radical opposition views, but our motherland, our love are above all and we must forgive each other, and we do not have to be aggressive. We must learn to understand each other and I am prepared today to resume talks on how to save our country, to help our people, how to secure the country against the enemy, which is located in 40 kilometers from Tbilisi," he said.

Saakashvili called upon everyone in the cathedral for a dialogue. "I want to say that we are not enemies, we are not enemies of blood and do not take arms against each other. I am ready to reap all of the hands of opposition," he said, and with those words came into the hall, extended his hand to the opponents, among whom there was one of the leaders of the radical opposition, Irakli Alasania, who was the only one of the radical opposition, who came to Holy Trinity Cathedral.

In his turn, Alasaniya said that he is ready for the dialogue with the President and hear his opinion on possible ways to break the deadlock. "We are ready for dialogue, and today came to the church to forgive," he said.
