The number of tourists from Turkmenistan traveling to Georgia from January through October 2021 decreased by 83.8 percent to 551 visitors, compared to 3,404 people over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.
Meanwhile, the same indicator decreased by 95.1 percent in the reporting period of 2021, compared to first 10 months of 2019, when 11,255 people visited Georgia from Turkmenistan.
Some 83 tourists visited Georgia from Turkmenistan in October 2021, which is an increase of 591.7 percent, compared to 12 visitors in the same month of 2020.
However, the number of tourists from Turkmenistan in October 2021 decreased by 93.7 percent, compared to 1,312 visitors over the same period of 2019.
The total number of incoming international visitors to Georgia from January through October 2021 amounted to 1.5 million people, which is a decrease of 7.7 percent, compared to 1.6 million over the same period of 2020.
According to the statistics, the same index dropped by 79 percent in the reporting period of 2021, compared to 6.6 million over first 10 months of 2019.
