Leaders of some Libyan tribes in the east in the province of Cyrenaica have declared autonomy, the Turkish news agency Anatolia said on Tuesday.

The province of Cyrenaica is rich in oil and the country's largest oil company is in this province.

Fighting between opposition rebel forces and government forces of the former leader of the Jamahiriya, Muammar Gaddafi, who had ruled the country for almost 40 years continued for nearly a year in Libya. The opposition of Libya which formed NTC, after the death of Qaddafi and the liberation of the country, still leads Libya.
