( dpa ) - A person was arrested after trying to hijack a small Air New Zealand plane on a domestic flight from Blenheim to Christchurch on Friday, news reports said.
Air New Zealand confirmed that "an incident" had occurred on the flight and one passenger was taken into police custody on arrival at Christchurch. It said the other seven passengers were unhurt.
The plane made an emergency landing and Christchurch airport was closed to all flights, Radio New Zealand reported.
