A joint mediation team will be sent to Georgia by the United States, European Union and Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) amid an escalating conflict between Georgian and Russian forces in South Ossetia, dpa reported.
The delegation will work to reach a ceasefire between all sides as quickly as possible, according to a statement Friday from the EU presidency, which is currently held by France.
