Syria and Belarus have similar views in the international arena and Syria thinks highly of Belarus' view on peace issues in the Middle East, said Vice President of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Syria Izzat Al Kang during a meeting with Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB) Leonid Kozik on November 10.

Izzat Al Kang underscored activities of trade unions across the globe are political. Together Syria and Belarus can overcome the global financial crisis, which has proved the inadequacy of the policy of great global powers and globalisation processes. The Vice President expressed confidence both the states can contribute to the conversion of the monopolar world, reported Belta.

Izzat Al Kang informed about efforts of trade unions in Syria, their participation in the political, economic, social and cultural life of the country. In his opinion, TUFB has rich experience the Syrian side is interested in studying.

In turn, TUFB Chairman Leonid Kozik remarked, the General Federation of Trade Unions of Syria plays an active part in the World Federation of Trade Unions. Over the last three years the role of the organisation has increased a lot while Belarus and Syria can make it even more capable.

The delegation of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Syria will stay in Belarus till November 15. While in Belarus the delegation is expected to visit the International Institute of Labour and Social Relations and Minsk Automobile Plant. On November 12 the delegation is expected to visit Brest to get familiar with the operation of the Brest Oblast Association of Trade Unions.
