A powerful blast, which is suspected to be a suicide bombing, rocked southwest of Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday morning, and smoke was seen after the exploison, a witness told Xinhua.
"A very powerful blast woke me up this monring at around 7:40 and I saw a big smoke in southern part of Kabul," Safa Mohammand, a resident of Gul Bagh near the blast site told Xinhua.
Afghan and NATO military convoys often pass this area, he said. According to locals the blast could be a suicide bombing or a roadside bomb attack. However, some unconfimed sources said the blast was a suicide attack targating the Musahi district in south of Kabul.
