A press conference in New York on the results of an auction to sell 5,500 artifacts recovered from the wreck site of the Titanic to one buyer has been delayed, Guernsey's Auction House said in a statement, DPA reported.

Guernsey, which is in "discussions with multiple parties" for the sale of the collection as one package, said in a statement that a press conference on the auction planned for Wednesday would be rescheduled. No date was given.

The collection includes furniture, dishes, luggage, shoes, clothes, jewelry, binoculars and postcards and has been valued at 189 million dollars.

"In order to settle on the most appropriate bidder and maximize the ultimate value of the artifacts for shareholders, it will conduct these negotiations and due diligence in confidence," the statement said.
