The protest is held in Izmir to support the demonstrators on Taksim Square, Zaman newspaper reported.
On the Basmane square protesters clashed with the police. Around 600-700 protesters damaging cars and shops and moving toward the street Cyprus Shehidleri tried to break the protection of the police.
The protesters blocked traffic towards the boulevard Tyalyatpasha. At the moment there are clashes between police and protesters.
As previously reported, Istanbul Governor Hüseyin Avni Mutlu said that 12 injured, 63 people were detained during the riots on Taksim Square in Istanbul due to the demolition of the Gezi park. Police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse demonstrators.
6th Istanbul Administrative Court decided to suspend the construction of a shopping mall on Istanbul's Taksim Square.
