Shootout occurred between Turkish servicemen and militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the country's southeastern Tunceli province, the Turkish media reported April 23.
According to the preliminary reports, three PKK militants were killed during the shootout.
Another shootout occurred between Turkish servicemen and PKK militants in the country's southeastern Sirnak province on April 19. Four PKK militants were killed during the shootout.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for more than 30 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
