Transshipment of oil products through Turkish ports exceeds 3M tons

In September 2019, nearly 3.4 million tons of jet fuel, naphtha and petroleum coke were transported through the Turkish ports, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Oct. 31.

During the mentioned month, the volume of jet fuel transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to 883,298 tons.

“During the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 11,400 tons of jet fuel, and ships flying the flag of other countries - 871,898 tons,” the ministry said.

In September 2019, nearly 5.9 million tons of naphtha were transported through the Turkish ports, according to the ministry.

“During the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 9,778 tons of naphtha, and ships flying the flag of their country - 78,506 tons, while ships flying the flag of other countries - 783,125 tons,” the ministry said.

In September 2019, nearly 1.7 million tons of petroleum coke was transported through the Turkish ports.

“During the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 42,183 tons of petroleum coke, ships flying the flag of their country transported 284 tons, and ships flying the flag of other countries – nearly 1.6 million tons,” the ministry said.

In September 2019, crude oil, fuel oil, iron ore, lead-free gasoline and gas oil were transported most of all through the Turkish ports.

Most of the transit cargo through the Turkish ports was transported from Italy, China, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Egypt, Greece and France.

The total volume of transit transshipment through the Turkish ports amounted to nearly 56 million tons in September this year.
