Turkey announces timeframe for commissioning of logistics center in Mardin province

Building of a logistics center in south-east Turkish province of Mardin on the border with Syria will be completed in 2022, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on March 12.

According to the ministry, construction of the center, with the total cost of 75 million liras (over $46 million) was launched in Mardin province in 2019.

“No foreign credit was used to implement the project”, the ministry said.

Some 25.2 billion liras ($4.1 billion) will be invested in 2020 in the construction of transport and infrastructure projects, the ministry said earlier.

A total of 2,994 projects will be implemented in 2020 in Turkey, 455 of which are in the field of transport and infrastructure. As reported, 77.134 billion liras ($12.5 billion) have been allocated for the projects.

Implementation of projects to create 12 logistics centers is also under way. Eight of such centers are at design and tender stage, while the construction of another four ones continues.

Foreign contractors may also participate in the construction.
