Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Ilhamgizi / Tulay Tugju, the chairwoman of the Constitutional Court of Turkey, stated in Baku on 1 May that reports urging the influence of armed forces on the Constitution Court of Turkey are wrong.
At a news conference dedicated to results of the visit to Azerbaijan by the Chair of the Turkish Constitutional Court she stated that speculation surrounded Turkey regarding the non-recognition of the candidacy of current Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul.
She noted that the presidential elections do not mean a replacement in the regime in Turkey. Moreover there is no change to the authorities of the current President and the authorities.
According to Tugju, the presidential elections in Turkey are always accompanied with problems. She also appraised the mass protest actions held in the country. It indicates the consolidation of democratic values in Turkey and the civil society.
