The Central Election Commission (CEC) gave a number of recommendations at the meeting for holding the election campaign to the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan scheduled for November 1.
The CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov urged the registered candidates to comply with the requirements of the law during the election campaign, adding that legal measures can be made in respect of the candidates who commit illegal actions.
"The CEC doesn't seek to punish anyone, on the contrary, it wants to create equal conditions for all," said the head of the commission. "Therefore, we urge everyone to comply with the requirements of the law and not to force the CEC to take serious measures."
