A friendship group with Azerbaijan has been established in Peru Congress, Azerbaijani embassy in Mexico told Trend Nov.24.
In his letter sent to the Azerbaijani embassy, Elias Rodriguez Zavaleta, head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Peru Congress emphasized the importance of strengthening the Interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Zavaleta also pointed out the significance of creating a friendship group with Azerbaijan in the Congress.
It was noted that it is a historic event that will contribute to the development of relations between Peru and Azerbaijan.
Peru Congress adopted a resolution on June 10, 2013 condemning Armenia's policy of occupation against Azerbaijan. Moreover, Khojaly events were assessed as genocide in this document.
