The agenda of a Tuesday sitting of the Milli Majlis included 12 draft laws. The sitting discussed first the draft law on the 2006 Public budget of Azerbaijan Republic. Sattar Safarov, the chairman of the permanent parliamentary commissiononeconomic policy delievred key notes on the bill.
In accordance with the draft budget, the revenues comprise 3,408,315,3 denominated manats (5000 manats = 1 new Azerbaijani manat - 5000 AZM=1 AYM). The expenses are to be 3,566,315,3 denominated manats. The public budget deficit is equal to 158m AYM..
Alekperov, the Finance, informed that the major goals of the project is to ensure the balanced socio-economic development, cut in tax burden, strengthening of the defense power of the country, the development of regions, poverty reduction, establishment of infrastructure, active implementation of the project on targeted social aid, resolution of social problems, state care of small and medium-scale entrepreneurship, increase of the logistics base of the organizations financed from the budget.
Other speakers to the sitting were Farhad Aliyev, the Minister for Economic Development, Elman Rustamov, the chairman of Managing Board of the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA), Kamaladdin Heydarov, the chairman of the State Customs Committee.
