Turkey plays an important role in the transportation of energy resources, an Azerbaijani minister said.
Natig Aliyev, Azerbaijan's minister of energy made the remarks during the meeting in Ashgabat with participation of the heads of oil and gas ministries of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey and EU representatives.
The meeting will contribute to the further cooperation in the fuel and energy sphere.
Natig Aliyev added that Turkey is the participant of large energy projects, Anadolu agency reported May 1.
The EU has started to actively lobby for the project for construction of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan.
Southern Gas Corridor, which includes the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline project as well, remains priority for Brussels. The Trans-Caspian gas pipeline could be a part of TANAP project which is being implemented by Azerbaijan and Turkey.
