The US companies can benefit from post-sanctions era in Iran, according to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

He made the remarks in a meeting with a group of managers of the US commercial and industrial companies.

"Tehran sees no restriction for the presence of the US companies," ISNA news agency quoted Rouhani as saying on Sept.26.

"These companies can take advantage of the competitive atmosphere to invest and transfer technology to the country," he added.

The post-sanctions era has provided new political and economic opportunities, the president said, adding that obstacles for the presence of the US companies in Iran will not be permanent.

Iran's deputy oil minister for commerce and international affairs, Hossein Zamaninia, said in July that the country has already determined 50 oil and gas projects it will offer for bids, valued at $185 billion.

Based on US sanctions which took effect in 1995, US oil companies are not allowed to invest in Iran.

Trade between the US and Iran saw a 14-percent drop in 2014, amounting to $182.1 million.

Iran's exports to this country stood at zero and $2.2 million in 2014 and 2013, respectively.

The US exported over $157.4 million of products to Iran during the first seven months of the current year, a 47 percent rise from $106.7 million in the same period of time in 2014, according to the latest report released by the US Department of Commerce.
